How to Apply:
1. Eligible candidates are required to apply ONLINE through CLRI website “www.clri.nic.in” and no other means/mode of application will be acceptable.
2. Online application will be available on CLRI website up to 23.09.2011 (5.30 PM)
3. After online submission, candidates should take print out of the computer generated application, sign each page, paste a recent passport size photograph in the space provided and sign in full across the photograph. The same duly accompanied by attested copies of the certificates, mark sheets, testimonials, re-prints in support of age, qualifications, experience, community and publications along with Demand Draft (wherever applicable) should be sent in an envelope superscribed “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF _______________ (Post Code:________)” to “The Controller of Administration, Central Leather Research Institute, Sardar Patel Road, Adyar, Chennai 600020”.
4. Candidates should specifically note that applications not submitted online in the prescribed form or incomplete or unsigned or not accompanied with prescribed fee, recent photograph, attested copies of educational certificates, mark sheets, caste certificates, testimonials, etc or received after prescribed closing date for any reason whatsoever (such as envelop wrongly addressed, delivered elsewhere, postal delay, etc) will not be entertained. Any enclosure received separately subsequent to the receipt of application will not be connected therewith.

If you are a parent of a young adult you will realize that they are often confused about which careers to follow. Now take a closer look, you perhaps are more confused or worried about them than they actually are. Although its natural to be anxious about your child’s future, but what is more important that your child finds a career that is more suited to his/her personality, aptitude and interest. Today, our country offers a plethora or opportunities to young adults that never existed in your time. Apart from mainstream professions, there are also a number of careers available off the beaten track like hairdressing or pet grooming that have proved to be quite lucrative. The best time for your child to gain some experience and insight into their talents and options are while they are in college. So if you are aware of these options, so will your child….

What are the options?

Such jobs are typically test marketing of a particular product, market research, sales and telemarketing, ushers and guides in trade fairs and public relations activities. Many shopping malls, exhibitionists, music shops & food outlets like Mac Donalds, Pizzeria etc require students for short durations to meet the summer rush. Most agencies pay about Rs 150 per day. If your child is lucky and is given some project work, the pay could rise to as much as Rs. 5000/-per month.

If your child is interested in teaching, encourage them to give tuitions after college hours. Creative minds can get into freelancing and jobs are available by the dozen online. A lot of companies require part timers for data entry, typing and translations. If your child has the knack for mixing music, s/he can consider DJ’ing for parties and family functions. If they have the knack for writing, they can tie up with a particular magazine, website or paper and send regular articles.

Another option is getting experience in the share market and tracking share prices. Give them the opportunity to explore. IT companies too take on college students to surf the net and develop their website and content.

Alternatively, you could also involve your child in Voluntary work at various Social Organizations like CRY, Anmol or Akanksha to make them realize how truly blessed they are.

How to go about it?

The most important thing is never force your child into getting a job, more often than not, they don’t like to be told anything. But as a parent, it’s important that you keep them informed, the initiative has to come from them that they are interested. Once you get the go signal, give them the options.

Most of these jobs are not easily advertised in the papers, one needs to approach the companies directly or work through a contact like relatives or friends who may be employed in banks and companies. Becoming an apprentice to someone who is a master of the skills will help your child get a feel of how things are done.

Never discourage your child from taking any offer of their interest. Eg: If they are interested in selling products. Don’t discourage them by saying, “ Are you going to go door-to-door selling?” This experience might just bring out a latent talent of convincing customers, which is needed in today’s jobs. Worse comes to worse, your child will realise early in life that s/he is not cut out to be in selling and hence can take up a career later that does not involve selling. Give your child wings; don’t clip them to suit your needs.

How will it benefit your child?

Do you remember your first job? And the thrill you experienced at seeing your first pay cheque? Why deny your child of the same.

Besides gaining experience, it will also enable them to earn some pocket money and to realise what kind of career will appeal to them the best. The sooner s/he starts working, the faster they will learn to shoulder responsibilities and understand the value of money. Their personal attributes will change for the positive as they learn to communicate with seniors and even multi task duties. Working in a bank/ office will inculcate a feeling a workplace culture faster than their friends.

All in all, it will enable them to be independent, responsible and not be wasteful individuals. They will also learn to appreciate the finer things in life from a young age.

Moreover if you look around you will find that professional courses have become the order of the day and hence future. And as such, youngsters,(18+), who are not supplementing their theoretical knowledge with practical work experience will get left behind.

Hyderabad, October 25: AP state owned power generation compnay The Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited has issued recruitment notification for the post of Junior Plant Attendant for various districts. JPAs will have to work at the power plants as attendants. The total number of posts vacant is 1755. The selection will be made through three way method– written test, trade test and final interview.

Age and Education Qualifications:  The eligibility for Junior Plant Attendant posts is 10th Class or SSC pass with ITI certificate in required branch. Candidates should have an age below 18-35 years as on 01 October 2011.

APGENCO JPA Recruitment Online Registration :

Candidates interested for APGENCO JPA jobs have to apply website developed by Centre for Good Governance AP. Candidates have to pay Rs.150/- as registration fee at any of the AP online counters to get a journal number for future reference.

Hyderabad, October 18: The Andhra Pradesh State Public Service Commission has announced the online download facility of hall tickets for the recruitment test of Assistant Social Welfare Officer, Assistant B.C. Welfare Officer & Assistant Tribal Welfare Officer are scheduled to be held on 23rd October 2011.
The Examination is going to be held at Hyderabad only. Downloading of Hall Tickets is in progress. For the first time in history of APPSC two important changes are being introduced from this examination. Some important points for the candidates.
–The OMR Sheets have to bubbled only by Ball Point Pen (Blue or Black). Bubbling by pencil / Ink Pen / Gel Pen is not permitted in this examination.
–OMR Sheets supplied to the candidates consist of two copies, the original copy and duplicate copy below. After completion of the examination the candidates should handover the original OMR Answer Sheet (top sheet) to the invigilator and carry the bottom sheet (duplicate) for his / her record.
–The candidates are also informed under no circumstances should the candidate take away the main Answer Sheet and if he does so he will be disqualified.
–The test will be held on 23/10/2011 at 10.00 AM to 12.30 PM and 2.00 PM to 04.30 PM.
